Comments and suggestions after the summer school:
- I think this summer school is very good. Next summer school, I hope various laser radiation lectures can be given. Thanks for the organizers.
- Thanks for the organizers’ great work very much! If give us more time to discuss between our students and more time to ask questions it will be perfect!
- I think it’s too short for one lecture. Two hours for every lecture is better.
The order of the lectures are a bit confusion. The subject doesn’t stand out.
- I am very interested in Professor Nam’s lecture. After listening his lecture, I have acquainted myself deeply with the generation and application of hamonics, especially with attosecond pulse generation and its measurement. I benefit from his lecture.
I think this kind of summer school is very good for us young students, and give us the opportunity to listen to the master’s reports. We can know the hot topic of this domain. I hope there will be more similar summer school in future.
- If there is internet to use for attendances it is good.
Set up some free discussion in program between lectures can be very useful for students.
Thank you so much for every things especially for organization (Prof. Sheng) and his very active students.
- After one or two days, some of the seminars became repeatative to some extent. I think it’s good if the lectures be in tune if it’s possible.
Nevertheless, I’m so thankful for all your affairs in forming this school. It was very useful for me and also interesting.
- I hope the PPT can be put in the net so that we can download them.
- I think the time of a lecture is a little long.
- I suggest there should be more opportunity to communicate between students and teachers.
- Because this is a summer school for young graduate students and researchers in the field of laser plasma physics, the given presentation should be more fundamental instead of group achievements from lectures. I think there should be more about fundamental concepts, theoretical analysis, application potential introduction and achievements without so many details for the purpose of improving young students’ interests and knowledge.
- Can you put the teaching materials in CD or in the net for further study?
Please introduce every teachers’ research topic and their published articles more detailedly.
- I hope summer school will be continued in future, and I hope I can get all the teaching materials in book, thus we can understand the experts presentation.
Can you consider to arrange a seminar between students from different countries, young researchers and teachers? I hope we can discuss what we are interested in in more comfortable and free environment.
- I suggest putting the PPT of the lectures in the net in advance or printing them and distributing them among students so that we can be familiar with the contents of the lectures and give the good questions. Otherwise we cann’t understand so clearly due to such short lectures or experts’ not so good pronunciation. I think we can ask questions by notepapers or ask questions in Chinese, and then ask relevant teacher to translate them to English. Thank you!
- In general I think this summer school is very successful, and I have learned many from it. I think the question and communication time after lectures is too short. Discussion between students is little. Posters are organized well, and communication is enough too. You can consider to organize more such communication.
- Although his lecture was very informative, it was hard to follow him. The number of topics that was selected or presented by him was too much to be properly explained. I think his lecture could be restricted to less topics and try to emphasize on the physics much more. It was useful for the scientists who do the same kind of research.
A general remark:
There were overlaps among the lecturers’ talks. The overlaps became to that extent much that almost 50% of the lecture in the same field was repeated by the new lecturer. The organizing committee could ask the lecturer to choose a special effect in laser-plasma interaction under the organizing committee program, to reduce the overlap, and try to explain an effect deeply.
It will be a good idea to ask the lectures to give or share ideas with students and young scientists. In this way we can be hopeful to get better results from the organizing the activities. Moreover, I didn’t see any meeting encouraging the scientists of different countries to take part in joint activities. Or introducing the possibility of joint program to extend the regional knowledge in laser-plasma interaction.
The last but not the least. It is useful to consider internet service for the participant in the school or conference hall. This deficiency could be seen during the school.
