With the support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the National High Technology Research and Development Program (NHTRDP), the Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (XDA) and other national scientific fundings, together with the support from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), we have developed an advanced high-field physics research platform consisting of ultrashort and ultra-intense laser systems, advanced laser fusion experimental diagnostics, and the Huairou PW Laser and ultrafast electron diffraction system. Following the 1.4 TW "Xetreme Light-II" (1999) and the 20 TW "Xetreme Light-II" (2001) femtosecond laser devices, in 2006 the world-leading 350 TW "Xetreme Light-III" ultra-intense laser system was successfully developed.
